Spicy Tofu Buffalo Wings

Finally sharing this DELISH recipe which will be PERFECT for your Super Bowl get-together 🏈 If you’re not a tofu lover, this will change your mind 👏🏼 So flavorful, gluten free, and VEGAN! 😉 Honestly, I’m obsessed with anything breaded and air fried 🙈🤷🏽‍♀️ HAPPY FRY-DAY!

Spicy Tofu Buffalo Wings

🔪 Prep Time: 15 minutes

🍳Cook Time: 15 minutes

🕒Total Time: 30 minutes

🍴Serving Size: 3-4

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 block Extra-Firm Tofu

  • Vegan Mayo {recipe below}

  • ~1/3 cup GF Rice Crumbs (@traderjoes)

  • Spices - Garlic Powder, Smoked Paprika, Salt & Pepper

  • Buffalo Sauce {recipe below}

Vegan Mayo:

  • 1/2 cup Avocado Oil

  • 1/4 cup Almond Milk (@traderjoes)

  • 1 tsp Apple Cider Vinegar

  • Pinch of Pink Himalayan Sea Salt

Buffalo Sauce:

Instructions:

  1. Prep your tofu by wrapping it in paper towels and pressing it between two heavy plates/pans for ~15 mins to release all the water.

  2. Meanwhile, prep your vegan mayo by blending all the ingredients together. Pour some out onto a small plate.

  3. In another plate, add in your breadcrumbs and spices and evenly mix.

  4. Once your tofu is ready, cut into 1/2 inch long strips. Then coat each stick evenly in the mayo and then into the breadcrumbs. Place into your air frying rack. Repeat and make sure none overlap (may require multiple batches depending on air fryer size).

  5. Air fry at 375° for 10 mins!

  6. Meanwhile, mix together your buffalo sauce ingredients in a bowl. Pour out into a plate.

  7. Let your wings cool for a min before using two hands to roll each in the sauce. Please back on your fryer rack (or a baking sheet). Repeat and then bake in your oven at 350° for roughly 3-5 mins to solidify the sauce.

  8. Mix the leftover sauce with the leftover mayo and you have a spicy Buffalo Sauce for dipping! 🙌🏼

  9. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes & Tips:

  • You really want to make sure to use extra-firm tofu to ensure the crispiest tofu! Make sure to press your tofu long enough to release all water, switching out the paper towels throughout as needed.

  • Best served fresh but for leftovers, re-air fry at 375° for ~5 mins.
